About the Founder

Jay Taylor came into this world in a gloriously spectacular manner. While it was a fairly easy for Jay, the same can not be said for his mother. Some might say Jay’s birth was nothing short of miraculous, but even as an infant Jay embodied the “I don’t believe in failure” mentality he is known for today. It was a surprise to everyone around the birthing table as Jay emerged swaddled in soggy pages from Action Comics #1, a sharpened pencil behind his ear, and a volleyball in both hands; literally defying most modern theories of biology. In the lead up to that astounding moment, it is fair to say, the doctors were stumped as they concluded that no amount of medical dexterity and cervical flexibility were going to pull a newborn Jay out of that particularly precarious predicament. Regardless of the obstacles and tight passages before him, Jay was determined to join the people of our pale blue dot. With the fierceness and nimbleness of a caracal, Jay coated himself in graphite dust (from his sharpened pencil) and launched himself into this world with artist’s blood and volleyball DNA! The foreshadowed mental toughness would pave the way for an exciting college athletic career and success in the financial sector. Upon a challenge, presented on top the tallest of towers on the rainiest of evenings, Jay a long time artist, entered the comics fray. He creatied On the Square Comics under which he and the On the Square Comics gang self-published several titles, sketchbooks, and other popular art items.
